Ingredients: 2 apples (Granny Smith or Jonagold work well)2 cans refrigerated crescent rollsCinnamon to taste2 sticks of butter2 cups sugarSplash of vanilla extractPinch salt1 (12-ounce) can 7-Up or Sprite

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray bottom of 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray. Peel and core apples. Slice each into 8 pieces. Unroll crescent rolls and separate. Place 1 apple slice on top of each; roll up and place, seam-side down, in pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon. In small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in sugar. Mix well. Add vanilla and salt; stir well. Pour over cinnamon-topped rolls. Pour soft drink over this. Bake for 30 minutes. Let sit 45 to 60 minutes to absorb liquid after removing from oven.
