Dear Santa:
Thank you for the people that I love. and the people that love me. Thank you for a warm house and a safe place to sleep. Thank you for full cupboards, bare feet in soft carpets, down comforters, great books, clean water to drink; and a brave dog to check on things that go bump in the night. Thank you for my mantle full of Christmas cards; shivering candlelight making shadows on my walls; a couch as comfy as any bed; butter melting on an English muffin. Thank you that people trust me; and heaven watches over me. Thank you that I can afford to be in debt! That I can give instead of receive; that I can be the helper instead of the helped. Thank you for Christmas without the snow -- there//'//s soup on the stove--I promise...cookies next year.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
