Christmas away from family and friends is hard. especially when you are in a strange country.
Many years ago In Bangkok Thailand I had just attended church with a few other Expatriates. From Across The World , Christians celebrating Christmas.
After the service My friends had gone off to a nearby Hotel,
Been a non drinker by choice, food was more important to me LOL.
I worked 6 days a week in an air conditioned office and Sundays was my day of
Rest so I went for a short stroll and ended up at McDonalds,
Before crossing the road I came across some young children begging
They were a few off them at different intervals on the sidewalk.
I went to reach into my pockets for a few baht, But something stopped me,
I carried on to McDonalds and sat outside with my meal observing the young child beggars across the street feeling rather guilty for not having put something in their bowl.
It was then I saw a young man with a calico bag like the ones banks have for coins
He went up to each child and emptied the contents into his bag and moved on.
Quickly.
I knew then what I had to do, I knew then why I had been stopped from putting my lose change into the begging bowls.
I counted 5 children in that stretch of road. They would not go hungry or thirsty today!
" Can I please have 5 happy meals"
Yes these kids were going to have a Christmas present from me.
The broadest smile from each child was something I will never forget.
I did this every Sunday for while I was in Bangkok, different areas,
I was seen by one of my friends one Sunday and was caught with a few happy meals In my hands,, he told others and then each Sunday after our church meeting 4 of us set off splitting up to different areas.
LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR,
TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED.
Each time I see a McDonalds with smiling kids around I am reminded of the time in Bangkok Thailand.
Make A difference this Christmas. Reach Out And Touch Somebody
THE REWARDS ARE GREAT.
This Story is TRUE. ten years ago I was working In Bangkok.
If this story moved you please share the word.with family and friends
by forwarding on. Thank You.

So true was your experience. The lasting gift that will be a reminder as those children grow, that God truly sends someone as His messenger in His love ever lasting.. Beautiful |

If people could only take a few seconds out of their lives to help others, I think this world would be so much better off. Hats off to you for your kindheartedness.
