Relentless intrusions into my psyche
Compelling reasons to keep believing
When nothing added up the way it was supposed to
Coffee overflowed the cup while I talked to you
Sticky river of words waiting to be navigated
Wild current taking me downstream
Soon I'll be lost at sea
Without a sane thought to keep me company
You tell me once is not enough
But I don't know what that means
Long silences keep me at arms length
While you sort out your side of the story
It feels like dÃjà vu to me, instant replay
Running my hands through my hair in agony
Gritting my teeth against the threat of tears
You shake me like a rag doll, emotions rattle
I've let you in and now I can't get you out
You'll do as you please until you're ready to leave
I'll shut down, roll over and play dead
Because I know I can't win this one

Lived every word of this one, too, but certain lines about the coffee overflowing and the 4th line from last are so sharp. Is it the same for everyone, I wonder?
We don't like to think that, do we?
