I Am Nobody

Contributed by unknown_utopia on Saturday, 24th March 2018 @ 06:23:05 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Living life in reverse
trying to escape the hurt
with the loss of my equilibrium
I have no control
no rhythm
I have become absurd

A broken dream is my landscape
in the village of the void
I pace as I fade
a terrible lie was once told
and for ever it broke my poor heart

There was a time
when Illusions ruled
and I was thinking that maybe
just maybe
caressing my crucifix would do,
cracked and fractured
I became undone
I was unaware of what I have become
dazed and confused I no longer sleep
it was to late when I realized
the exorcism was incomplete

Buried alive
this talking head babbles no more
with eyes wide open I am in a box
in these manic times
death has a romantic allure,
I scratch at the lid
my fingers they bleed
resistance is futile
it is gonna be what it will be

when I am here
what I need is over there
what I am doing here
is never clear
and it is never ending,
I have gone mad
I no longer care
about anything

On the dust ward
that is where I can be found
looking around....
I am nobody.

Sadly, I can relate to this quite strongly. Very well written.

Great writing, although sad.
Reminds me of my poem " Living My Life In Reverse"

I know the feeling!

Fortunately, this has a strong sense of healing because it recognizes the insanity for what it is.
Truely to lose ourselves, we cannot sense it coming, and cannot finds our way back.
Your tale is a view to what could be, not what is.
It is the same as losing love -- as long as we are angry, we are still invested in the relationship.
The title drew me in; the trail of breadcrumbs you leave in this write is what made it hopeful.

this is as they say introspective,
where just anyone can have a moment
or two, but others might have a bit more
than just a moment or two.
Could be the riggers, the
triangular loss of any free
space, or the obliques,
telling you no amount of
crunches will suffice.
It/'/s all in shades of blue
and they come but mostly
go. When you say equilibrium
you mean I think balance.
nobody is on the dust ward
and the dust ward does
not exist.
If you could take my soul
I would freely give it.
Nobody likes a warm glass
of lemonade.
Nobody told me
this once.
I won/'/t say you/'/ll be
okay but I would
say I do wish you
well. And as for me,
I am middle of the
road man. I know
folks who suffer
through depression,
really smart, borderline
brilliant ones, both
young and old.
People who mean
a great deal to me.
Please keep on
writing, you/'/re
good at it!

this is fantastic. "I have become absurd" - love this! a lot of great imagery throughout. it held my interest all the way through. very well done!

this is amazing. it/'/s honestly hard to pick one line to quote but if I had to it would be this one - "I have become absurd" just DAMN. even this bit -

when I am here
what I need is over there
what I am doing here
is never clear

though simpler language, it hits hard in its relatability.
