Quiet moments in the dark.
Long car trips on a lark.
The mind wanders about the murk
As you search for money for the clerk.
Caffeine induction to awaken the mind,
And long drive to escape societies bind.
Glittery sunset in the desert at 60mph
Followed with heavy nighttime rain showers.
Wrangling with your chattel
As you check into another lonely motel.
You sense the spirits that never left,
And the sorrow with which they’re bereft.
You watch the road from the dingy window
As the desert puts on its own little sideshow.
Your thoughts drift back,
Back to her arm and kisses on the neck.
Those moments alone in the dark like now,
And how you could’ve ever lost her, oh how,
And you drift off to sleep and dreams.
Always exploring realities inseams.
