You still have my heart

You stole my heart
and kept it forever
in that secret part of your soul
only i ever saw
now i wish you had opened up
to someone
shared yourself
but you stayed my secret
my beautiful treasure
still with my heart held captive
beneath the layers you put up
to shelter yourself from their harsh winds of words
they were only jealous, i knew
they wanted to be you
have your smile, your laugh
your freedom
they had no idea of your past
the reason your side was scarred
but it doesnt matter now
although i'll always hold on to these memories of you
the way you held my heart
(that you still have, and always will, forever)

I have long believe that love, once allowed, never truly dies. It took, though, what seems like forever for me to even begin to accept that it may not be a one shot deal. It takes time, I believe - and Time has a way of knowing when you've arrived at the place you need to be to discover it.
Very touching write.
Knowing it will find you again,

That was good, it seems that relationships definitely bring about the
pained writing. It's sweet ... really bittersweet I guess. Good job.
