My Corner

Contributed by Jibz on Saturday, 2nd July 2005 @ 07:49:35 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Curled up in my dark little corner, I listen to the raindrops
So soothing, yet they remind me of all my dreams and ambitions
Fallen, broken and tossed aside as each new day passes, I've piled them up in a heap.

Curled up in my dark little corner, I close my eyes and pray.
Pray for a peacfeul calmness to wash all over me and make me whole.
For I am torn and bruised instead, because of the war that rages in me.

Curled up in my dark little corner, I cry myself to sleep
Hoping beyond hope that when I wake up, I'll be somehow different yet the same.
No longer clinging to the false sense of reality I've wrapped myself in.

Curled up in my dark little corner, I dream the same "unreachable" dream.
Where I soar through the clouds, happy, carefree and at one with myself.
Where I can be myself and there are those that will accept me for me.

Walking away from my dark little corner, I realize that I must strive.
Strive to make things happen and not let my past burden me
I've grown in this corner of mine and for that, I am thankful, but.....
....But now I'll embrace what's outside and make it mine!!

This is great... especially the ending. The fact that you can relize you need to walk away from your corner is great. Good way of explaining it all too...
