Morning Commute

Contributed by CarolinaBlue on Saturday, 2nd July 2005 @ 04:06:15 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

unstoppable

always moving

filled with life

crowds are pooling

doors they open

people get out

pushing shoving

rushing about

more flood inward

the doors they close

look for a seat

quick! off we go

paper in hand

briefcase at feet

late start today

the boss to meet

will i make it?

runs through my mind

haven't had coffee

not enough time

staring faces

fixed upon me

were they late too?

yes, probably

through the tunnel

we're almost there

standing up now

have to prepare

brakes are applied

hear the wheels screech

here comes my stop

doors i must reach

people in line

cramming about

Hurry! doors open

Please! let me out

through the subway

straight to the stairs

checking my watch

Phew! 10 minutes to spare

WOW..
sounds like many a day for me-
I once worked at Logan Airport and would commute by subway twice a day..
(Blue Line)

I was immersed in this write all the way through.

(rush hour's the worst..God those staring faces
standing for 4 or 5 stops...)

Great write!

B
