An Illuminating Stain

Looking at my hand
a hollow stand against the sun
an illuminating stain
perforating silver water
like the stars.

All I see
is water silver
and the stars.

All I see
is letter verb
and word.

Looking at my face
an empty page
a rusty thin beard
growing darker everyday.
