Smile

Contributed by A_New_Day on Friday, 1st July 2005 @ 10:42:24 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

You smile and say everything is okay,
It’s just another perfect day,
The birds are singing,
The bees are buzzing,
And my friends aren’t far away,
But then you go and cry,
I know,
Even though you think I don’t,
That I can’t see the tears behind your smile,
But I’ll be here for you all the while,
A shoulder to cry on,
Someone to lean on,
When the world turns its back on you,
I’ll be here.
I can’t stand to see you so unhappy,
Where are those days when you felt so great?
I want you to smile,
Please, don’t cry,
I’ll always be here,
Right by your side,
And now, though I see,
You smiling at me,
The clouds are lifting and you’re living again,
I hope I can help you through the pain,
I hope you can see,
And I want you to know,
That no matter where you go,
I always be here,
So don’t hesitate,
I want to help you,
I beg, please don’t wait,
I love your smile,
Please show it more,
I think you’re happier,
And anything I can do,
Just come to me,
And I’ll help see you through,
I’m a person who will listen to you,
Just please, start smiling again.
