A Dancing Memory Of You...

Contributed by eternal_dreamer on Friday, 1st July 2005 @ 06:38:37 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

I was walking through the meadow
Soaking in the glorious views
As the flowers were starting to dry
After the springtime morning's dew

I admire all the beauty
Cast before my eyes
As I breathe a sigh of relief
It reminds me of our last goodbye

I remember how we held each other
Your strong firm hand in mine
We danced amidst the dazzling flowers
The day so young and fine

The breeze orchestrated merrily
Amongst the singing blue bells
We were so happy and in love
Now my eyes with tears they swell

That was the dreaded last time
We'd share our graceful dance
You're no longer with me
I've lost our fairytale romance

So each and everyday
I make my way to the meadow
As the breeze blows gently
I can see us dancing in the shadows

We dance away well into the day
Until the sun sets again once more
Were I take the image of me and you
With me as I head for home's shore

This dancing memory I have of you
Comes to life every day
While I walk through the meadow
You slowly dance my way...

What a vividly beautiful tale...So pure in it's emotion. The last two stanzas were especially moving...Nicely done!

I have lived this love and this loss. Yes, I feel my love in the breeze as he gently touches my cheek. I feel him blow gently my hair to let me know he is beside me. Beautiful, dear dreamer.

How are your poems so perfect? : ) You called it your fairytale romance, and this whole poem felt like a fairy tale that came to life... but this one ended unhappily. It didn't feel like a poem that was screaming out pain though. It was a poem that sent the feeling of slow emotions. I don't know if that makes any sense. It just seemed as if your life was slow moving and you just sat still thinking of you loss. You seemed gloomy and quite... not screaming out pain. Lol... I keep going on saying saying what I am sure you already know. : ) Thanks you for another great write...

Tissue please!!

A beautiful way of explaining a memory. One to hold in your heart forever. Now I hold it in mine. The natural beauty of love in nature. Oh yes, everything is decorated in love.

Well it was difficult to read fast, my tears kept getting in my view. I managed to get through it alright.

Ok, so now that I am finishing crying, I will re-read.

Oh no, here comes the tears..

Beautiful fairytale romance. I do believe it was real though. Fairytales are misleading. This one does not lead me on. Nope, it was real alright. It would not even pass as a made up story. No, my love, what you had was very real. And, the memories are read too. Huggs..

Thank you for this powerful write.

This poem reminds me of a song

"Dancing bears painted wings
things i long to remember
and a song someone sings
once upon a december

Some one hold me safe and warm
hearts unfold in a silver storm
figures dancing gracefully
upon my memory"

Quote from "Once upon a December" from "Anastasia"

Thanks for such an inspirational poem.

This was beautiful. I've been here before, the place where the past is too far to hold, but close enough to see. May your past be a glad memory, with sadness far away.
Take care.
