The dreams slide down
Child-like forms fading,
Off the slippery edge,
A metallic smooth slide,
Cold to touch, and reflective,
Cascading down to hopelessness,
Curve upwards and out,
Binding with darkness.
So easy to float off, and fall,
My emptiness shatters on rocks,
Cutting through, shedding skin, spilling red,
A ghost left to repeat the scene
For all observers that peer down,
Not intending to follow.
Backs turn and I’m the mist,
For all to gaze through.
