The Devil's Work

Contributed by wizard on Wednesday, 29th June 2005 @ 09:58:40 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

What to do on my days of hell
but walk the path where many fell,
The Devil pleads to clutch my hand
and join him with the other damned

With each new step the struggles grow
His mal-intent he's quick to show,
For all this evil him we blame,
Yet we glorify his very name

This path before I've walked with him
Allowing him to inflict sin,
His demon not I chose to be
Now from all his sin I'm free

Each day again he beckons me
to lead a life of blasphemy,
Begging me to do his work,
Though I dissent - he'll always lurk

Get thee behind me, Satan. Just remember, Paul, it is one day at a time. One step forward over and over. You are doing great. Keep it up.

WOW ..bro

Each stanza was a story in and of it's self
I think "dark" may be your calling-
the flow was impeccable-
perfect in every way.. this write

2nd stanza..awesome!

"With each new step the struggles grow
His mal-intent he's quick to show,
For all this evil him we blame,
Yet we glorify his very name"

I know I seem to say 'best yet' to you quite a bit..
but that's because.. in my opinion..they are-
you really get better with each new post..

and this was no exception..I think your best yet.

Great write bro..

Billy

You are a "Wizard" with a magic pen
and a crystal paper for all the things
you foresee. Your writings are
amazing.

As always, an excellent write. However, I really feel that the third stanza could be a little stronger. It doesn't conflict with the flow or rythm, I just know you can do better. You have an amazing talent for poetry, use it. My favorite park of the poem are the last two lines in the first stanza 'The Devil pleads to clutch my hand, and join him with the other damned' Keep posting!

What can I add to what other's have said? Choices are sometimes
almost impossible ... but your outlook and strength is impressive.
[ I know you must be tired of hearing me say that, but it's still so true! ]

I have to agree with Billy ... second stanza is the best. Although, I love
the last one for it's affecting presence and strong conviction!!

Remarkable write, as per usual ...

~Breezy

You're a versatlle poet dearest Wiz and whatever you choose to write about it's a known fact that the result will be a most pleasing one. Those inner demons keep at us and we are more vunerable when we are feeling down. Where there is darkness there is also light. Search for it within yourself my dear friend. You have a beautiful aura to you that shall surpass any evil encounter. May the beacon of your heart always guide you to safer shores. Excellent post.
love n hugs from ur fan/friend,
sue m
