A Gift Of Love

Dear Mom and Dad,

I made a special gift for you
in art class
while at school.
Don't know if you will like it
but I think it's
pretty cool.
I know it doesn't look like much
but, supplies well
they were few.
Some paper and some fingerpaints
red yellow green and blue.
I grabbed a piece of paper
and picked the color I would use.
Poured the paint
in a container
then took off my socks and shoes.
I stuck my feet into
the paint
then smeared some on my hands
gently squished them on the page
imprints for you
how grand!
I wrapped them in this box you see
and tied it with a bow
sealed with a kiss, a gift of love
for both of you to show.
I hope these prints remind you
when I've grown up
big and tall
that I will love you
just the same
as I did
when I was small...

How preciously endearing CB, how I loved this poem. Memories came flooding back just like the many colors of you paint. We made plaster of paris prints of our little hands. I was so nervous that I would shove, instead of just plant my hand. Must have made about 5 before I got it just right! To this day it was most wonderful gift of love I've ever given them.
How delightful your poems are. They are filled with love and joy. Your reader is always in for a great treat!!!
Warm love
consue
