A Final Note

Topic: Suicide

A Final Note

In the event of my demise,
If anyone should care,
When the light is gone from my eyes,
Please hold onto your tears.
For it should come as no surprise,
That I was never happy here.
My life I've come to despise
In the passing of this last year.
So many silent outcries
But you were too important or busy to care.

In the event of my demise,
For all those who believe that they cared,
You should peer deep inside,
For evidence of your love has proven scarce.
I had so many lonely nights,
And you had not one minute to spare.
So much more important in your life,
You never thought of the agony I might want to share.
Loss is the permanent price
For those who haphazardly care.

In the event of my demise,
When you recieve news that I'm gone,
Please silence your cries,
For it didn't take long,
For life to exit my eyes,
While I hung quietly over the front lawn.
I searched my whole life,
For an end to the emotional storm.
Whether this way was wrong or right,
Be assured that now I am calm.

I agree, very nice job :) You did a wonderful job reaching into what was very likely the feelings your friend had at the time.

I am very sorry for your loss. I recently posted a poem titled "Defeat" which was written this past spring and the writing of it was the only thing that seemed to pull me out of one of the deepest depressions I have ever been in. It was a horrible thing to live with that dark feeling inside that I was not loved (which wasn't really true for me) but even the very thought of reaching out and saying I needed help even though I knew I did was too much to handle. I did briefly visit thoughts of suicide, or even just abandoning my family, but in the end I knew it wasn't the best answer to the pain. I wish your friend could have seen that too.

That was absolutely amazing. I am so sorry for your loss. I had a friend who killed herself as well. It was very sad. This is the most real poem on this thing. I am in complete awe. Great job, very sad.
