He's not here right now...
Can I take a message?
What?
Oh no, he's fine...
Just spending some quality
time with the misses...
Them and their four year old have gone
out fishing...
Now aint that something...
Family values done right.

Hello?
Oh no...
It's suppose to be this dark...
You know him...
Sometimes he forgets to pay the bills...
He'd forget his own head if it wasn't...
hehe never mind...
Check back in a couple of days...
I'm sure it will all be sorted out...

Hasn't been to school lately?
Well isn't that odd...
Doesn't seem the type to skip...
Oh no...
Wait a minute...
That's him there now...
Laying on the couch...
He must be sick...
Yes of course, I'll be sure to tell them...
Next time they won't forget to call
it in.

What the basement?
Reports of strange noises you say?
I see...
Well, not today...
It's flooded you know...
Sometimes it seems like nothing in this house works!
Blood?
Now why would you say that?
Just plain old water down there...
Oh well...if you insist...
See?
You can't?
Well go a bit further...

What an amazing poem! I feel like I'm drawn into the speaker's madness by the force of words and images. What a horrific ending. Beautiful work!
