Magnificet The Dragon

Contributed by gwenevere on Wednesday, 29th June 2005 @ 02:06:16 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

In the days of long time past
There was a valley with lakes of glass
Ice topped mountains all around
Diamond caverns underground

Something stirs from deep within
It creeps along and starts to swim
In icy waters he awakes
And slowly swims into the lakes

He opens up one bleary eye
And spreads his wings, ready to fly
With tongues of fire and heated breath
The dragon wakens from near death

With flap of wings, he takes to flight
Ready for battle, ready to fight
For his damsel to protect
This dragon named Magnificet

"You thought you'd killed me, that's a fact
But you did not and now I am back
Back to fight for good and true
And that you blaggard, is not you"

The lady cries with happiness
She thought she'd lost Magnificet
But he returned his wounds now healed
There to protect with added zeal

And now at last the battle done
True victory, the dragon won
I love you dragon, you're so brave
Now return safe to your diamond cave

Ros you have done it again. Your poetry thrills an old man who delights in all tales of chivalry. dragons were too part of my childhood. I read everything that I could lay my hands on in the days when i went to school and of couse later when I was able to buy my own books. Great stuff this keep them coming hugs from bernard.

Ya know...
this reminds me of the Creature Double Feature shows I watched when I was a kid...where the monster was always misunderstood and saved the day!~

I love it..

Great write. It is an exciting write that flowed so well. The Imagery was great in here... I almost felt as if I was there. Writes that can do that are a show of true talent...
