They reported that
the stately old tree
had fallen,
dating back to 1750,
that it had split
six to eight years ago
and that
metal rods were used
to hold up its arms.
But now strong winds
coming down over the hill
have taken
our oldest living
member.

Wow Charles......i know that Pennsylvania is very pretty...and when i saw this tree it brought such a sadness over me...this is a beautiful write....how did you get that picture in there??? I really enjoyed this poem im going to have to read more of your writings...

I always like these types of poems. If only the newspapers read more like this! It'd stop people thinking about war and more about their local surroundings. Thankyou. |
