Sorrow's Song

Contributed by bgj on Tuesday, 28th June 2005 @ 03:15:37 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

For love lost and shattered hope,
First a broken heart, now a length of rope.
How much pain can one heart take
When day after day it continues to break.
Happiness evades me, peace cannot be found,
Sometimes in my sorrow I feel I will drown.
If only I could turn back time
I would find a way to keep love mine.
That this would happen I could not see
Sometimes love stays, sometimes it flies free.
Tears fell for a while but now they run dry,
No matter how sad I cannot cry.
So long have I kept my emotions tied
That now a part of my soul has died.
From songs of despair to songs of love
From sorrow below to hope above.
I fear that happiness I'll not find again
Before I meet my final end.
Thou I hate this pain that ebbs with each breath
Which do I fear most, is it life, is it death.
My dreams may remind me of happier times
But then I awake and always find -
My sorrow.

pain is a fact of life...

im not saying "it will never go away," nor that you should "just ignore it," because the truth is this... we all need love. but, nobody really knows how to give it perfectly, that is why i am very thankful for the one way, truth, and life.. the love of our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. true power is the power to forgive.. not to give people what they deserve for their mistakes. so take heart, my freind, for this pain too shall pass.. finite pain cannot last long under the bright, pure light of infinite love.

shalom,
joshua

I liked your poem, you really know how to write. When things get tough, just remember some of the good times you had. I hope you feel better.

You expressed yourself wonderfully, good write. I think that each and every one of us at some point in our lives has lost love and thought our world was over, but the pain does lessen, things will get better and eventually your heart will open up again in time no matter how hopeless it seems right now. :-) ~R

geez this was painful to read since I can
relate to this so much, but listen to whiterobes
he is a wise man and what he says is the
truth for all pain does pass... I say that from
personal experience and so does Josh
(whiterobes). Good poem man I hope this
write helped you to release your emotions in
a constructive manner.
