Sewing Machine

Contributed by ForeverAndADay on Monday, 27th June 2005 @ 01:45:52 PM in AEST
Topic: scifi

Oddly organic this fabric...
Her fingers slide along the seam...
Most unpleasant to the touch...
And quite unorthodox, she thinks.

Stitch Stitch Stitch...
Goes the sewing machine.

People stop by from time to time.
To have outfits adjusted and made...
Not a very important place to be...
But it's there for them everyday...

Stitch Stitch Stitch
Goes the sewing machine.

There's an odd sort of feeling about...
But she dismisses it as silly...
After all, she thinks to herself...
She's not the first to get the night shift willies...

Stitch Stitch Stitch
Goes the sewing machine.

As she waits for her shift to end...
Stealing numerous glances at the door...
She peers at a precarious stack of clothing...
Building up on the semstresses floor.

Stitch Stitch Stitch
Goes the sewing machine

Her mind is elsewhere as she ventures back...
Far into the store...
For she had run out of a fabric...
And went in hopes of finding more...

Stitch Stitch Stitch
Goes the sewing machine

Boxes stacked for miles...
Almost touching the skylights...
She searches in one marked fabric...
Not knowing what she'd find...

Stitch Stitch Stitch
Goes the sewing machine...

Finally she's got it...
And she is just about to leave...
When she hears a muffled sound from a nearbye door...
Desperate, like the captured,
Wishing they were free...

And...
Stitch Stitch Stitch
Goes the sewing machine.

She opens a door and nearly gags at what she finds...
Hair, nails, skin, eyes, skinless creatures...still alive.
She chokes on her breath, and opens her mouth to scream...

But she doesn't get the chance...
Struck,
She falls to her knees...
Then there is naught but darkness...
And a clash of wretched dreams...

Stitch Stitch Stitch
Goes the sewing machine.

This made me sick lol In a good way though, I was eating ice cream then I read the lines:

"She opens a door and nearly gags at what she finds...
Hair, nails, skin, eyes, skinless creatures...still alive.
She chokes on her breath, and opens her mouth to scream..."

I gagged too. this was a great write though very vivid, I think it dragged out a bit in the middle so if you shortened it up it might make it more meaningfull.

Great write, keep it up!
Amanda
