The Battle

Contributed by gwenevere on Sunday, 26th June 2005 @ 03:28:26 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

The cries of anguish hit the air
A sound of horror and despair
Blood soaked bodies lie around
In the trees and on the ground

Scarlet flames lick at the homes
Tortured bodies, shattered bones
Evil cries of hatred, scorn
The devil once again is born

It makes the brave mans blood run cold
Takes him back to days of old
But no more time for looking back
The time has come, attack, attack

He sits astride his gallant horse
Behind, his army, amazing force
Lancelot, brother, by his side
Whom he'd searched for, far and wide

With heads down low, they face the throng
We will win, their battle song
They charge into this place called hell
With flash of sword, all men they fell

Suddenly, an eerie calm
Lancelot and brother, free from harm
You've won my son's,they've paid the price
Cries Merlin's voice from out the skies

You faced the hurricane, fought the storm
and now it's time to come on home

This is going to be an epic. You Gwenevere have marvelous talent. These episodes should be sent to a newspaper or some other printer they are well worth printing. I take my hat off to you. bernard.

a most imaginative and descriptive tale of grandeur
and sublime.. this write
the 6th stanza is at the highest reverence to me..

I am remiss that it's come to end...as I'm off to read the final installment-
