The Day I Died

Contributed by xXx_lil_pyro_xXx on Friday, 24th June 2005 @ 06:41:28 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

I died today,
I just wanted you to know.
I'm going to that place,
Where God said bad people go.

It started with one sleeping pill,
Wich turned into 10 and then 20,
Then started banging my wrist on the wall,
It actually felt kind of funny.

Everything started to get hazy,
All around me got so dim.
Then i started thinking,
About this, that, her, or, him.

My mind then proceeded filling itself,
Full of memories, and things.
And for some reason, oddly enough,
A thought of new beginnings.

My head slowly calmed,
And the world faded away.
I'm almost ready now,
But some part of me wanted to stay.

I woke up to really bright lights,
And blurry figures, in green clothing.
I had the worst head ache,
And the ringing in my ears wouldn't stop droning.

My eyes got a little bit clearer,
There were only nurses in the room.
I failed my attempt at suicide,
And wondered: "What's going to be my doom?"

Nothing happened when i got home,
At least not from what i could see.
Everyone was quiet though,
And my mother couldn't look at me.

My life's been changed and so have I,
Just because i lived.
I know I'll never do that again,
I'm still begging for loved ones to forgive.

So, yah! The old me died today,
I just wanted you to know.
And now she's going to that place,
Where God said bad people go.

This is great Karis! I love the little twist at the ending, you put a whole new perspective on suicide attempts for me, well done. Thank you for your thoughts you have a unique writing style and I love it! Keep it up... if it's not to hard for you, you might want to write about your friend... I don't know if you have already, I have two more of your poems to read... if you can't handle it don't do it, it was just a thought.

*hugs*
Your cuz,
.amanda.
