the phrase that fits

Contributed by roisin on Tuesday, 7th January 2003 @ 04:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Romantic love ...more often than not...a dead end....hmmmmm....mildly ecstatic now that I have found the phrase that fits....can one be mildly ecstatic?...I'm thinking , yes....just as one can be a little sad....

waves crashing
a woman stands alone staring out into the sea
arms outstretched
in her wind-blown goddess gown
and she remembers
he went across the sea,
but said he'd be back for me,
instead
he died
a tortured soul, dreams shattered,
heart-broken.

the band of gold, no longer of any use
is thrown into the foamy swirling sea
swept away
gone forever
tasting the salt on her tongue,
the sea or her tears?
she howls and moans like some fatally wounded animal
beating her chest
screaming out in anger
I grieve you no longer, I grieve me!!

oh Isis---lady of life---
you the most powerful and magical of healers
show yourself to her in her breavement

Isis answers---her will, wits and strength will sustain her
transform her
she of many gifts
the immediate chaos will end
her silent screams may come and go on forever
in the end all will be well

Roisin, this is a magnificant piece. Splendid, vivid, powerful imagery. Excellent rhythm. I agree with you: One can be mildly ecstatic, as one can be a little sad. Sort of like Isis is sort of right.

Dearest Rosin, I had a little of a time looking past the feelings as once I was that woman.. then re-read and saw all the beauty and the magical quality, like I felt the romantic breezes she felt... an excellent write my friend, always Nessa
