The Curse of Writer's Block

Contributed by justme03 on Thursday, 23rd June 2005 @ 07:52:41 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

You close the door to the outside
locking yourself in
You close the windows and the blinds
the sun can not find a way in
You close your eyes, begin to pray
but your real desires
stay within
You are sheltered and locked up
and no one can get in

Or out. . .

You have locked yourself inside
a hard core of steel
No one can find you, and you don’t know
what’s real
You have a fake persona and you hide behind a mask
When you are truly happy, the feeling never lasts
Everyday you try to break free from your living grave
but you try in vain
You are buried too deep from years of hiding away
Your spirit stays the same
You can not become a happy soul or the poet
you were destined to be
You can not find your true feelings
because you are dead to me
Your brilliance goes unnoticed
while you are pronounced dead
The world has already moved on
and your heart turns to lead
You feed on words
that make up your soul
as you reap the blindness your heart stole
You become narrow minded
and can not deem
the thoughts that wander in your mind
become undreamed
Locked up inside my mind
are the dreams of the future and the
hopes of the past
I hope to write down all I see
so the feelings will forever last
I need to come out from my dark mask
and become brave
To let it all spill onto paper at long last

~Kortnie~

Every single poem I write began one way then pens itself into whatever it will.

"Locked up inside my mind
are the dreams of the future and the
hopes of the past"

I had to quote the above because it was and is AWESOME!

Keep writing, the block's got nothing on ya..

Kie

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
