The Flight

Topic: LovePoetry

Thirty thousand feet above, the clouds were fluffy white, my mind was
thinking of someone I'd wrote to day and night. As we spoke on the internet,
our lives seemed much the same. But now that we'll meet face to face,
Have I done something lame?

We had agreed to share "one" drink, whilst in between my flights, and if
nothing sparked between us, or we saw no flashing lights, then we'd shake
hands, disappear, and go our separate ways, no feelings hurt, nothing lost,
and so the story plays.

All was planned well in advance, I thought she might be sweet, and she
thought I a gentleman, might just be worth a meet.

Descending now, down towards the strip, I couldn't hardly wait, for I felt
like a teen again, out for his first blind date. As I taxied towards the
gate, I thought of how she'd look, and trust me, all those thoughts I had, I
could have wrote a book.

But as I walked off the plane, and trotted through the gate, I saw her
standing, waiting... that's when I knew my fate. Her long blonde hair, her
bright blue eyes, her face somewhat ablush, I then walked straight up to
her, and felt emotion rush. I took her hand and said hello, "how very nice
to meet you", and led her towards the lounge and stools, then asked "may I
please seat you?"

I was simply overwhelmed, her presence made me shiver, her beauty was so
striking, that my voice began to quiver. I told a joke to warm things up,
and then I saw her smile, and something told me deep inside, I'd be there a
while.

Oh God I begged inside my head, for once delay my flight, don't make me
leave her loveliness, not least until tonight. We talked and talked and
laughed a lot, until the drink was finished, strolled hand in hand down to
my gate, my time all but diminished.

I checked the board, MY FLIGHT DELAYED! ... our God above those clouds!
I get to spend more time with her, although amongst the crowds. We leaned
against a wall of glass, and that was our first kiss, our second, third, our
fourth and fifth, lost count in total bliss. Although the people at my gate, must
thought of us as fools, we didn't care in public there, we broke down all their rules.

Back on my plane and buckled up, I tried to close my eyes, while speeding
down the runway, lifting up into the skies. I knew I'd met my soulmate, and
was in trouble deep, for now my life forever changed, because I'd made the
leap. There was no going backwards I'd never be the same, I could not go on
living, unless she wore my name. Although it meant much turmoil, attorneys
and the lot, I'll fight for what I feel as right, and so I fought and
fought.

I lost it all, my dynasty, X took it all in spite,
yet, little does X know today, I gave it with delight. 'Cause now I get to
be with her, my soulmate and best friend, my life has gone from gray to
gold, who say's we can't amend?
For real Love's so much stronger, that it makes it all worthwhile, I live
again, I'm breathing and.... each day I see that SMILE !!!!!!
