Company Through Despair, Laughing, Talking, Wonder

Contributed by Exodus on Thursday, 23rd June 2005 @ 05:34:43 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

I dragged myself through this
Found no sense to any of the things I held so dear
I disappeared through the darkness
Took you in and held you near

You kept me company through the bad times
You made me comfortable with the deepest sin
I held my head so much lower
But I still held you close and closer within

I took myself back through you
It's not that I could never get enough
I swallowed all my fear and insecurities
Ignored my senses as a blind man does

I became pure evil
A shroud was my place to call home
I left the place of shelter
Sought you and anywhere you decided to roam

I got my head screwed
Hid myself only under your forsaken gaze
I lost myself in your pleasures
And walked aimlessly through your tempestual maze

I stained myself with your wonder
Breathe without you I would never seem to do
I caused so much pain and anger
But in the end I couldn't run away from you

I cried myself through anguish
But returned to you for my life
You gave me all the happiness
And you caused me grief and strife

I can say these things with a smile
But in the end I will have a frown
You will curse me away from my values
As I proceed through the tunnel, a descent straight down

I spend my time waiting
Just to taste your bliss
I wait forever for a sample
Trade all my hardship for a numbing kiss

Incomplete because I saw through you
No one could ever understand
I am tempted by your wonder
And all the hard times began......

Tempted and wasted
Depressed and so let down
Despaired with no hope
Laying upon the littered white ground

A dream
Hopeless as I may seem
You come to me in reality
But reality is only a sickness, a lonesome dream
