laying there reeking
putridly seeking
a heart to hurt
like an evil curse
failing to see
the death of me
failing to hear
the voice; its near
breathing so heavy
breathing so deep
like a stranger with asthma
a subtle creep
it dawns on me to run
just a little too late
and as i scream
i meet my fate
