They tease me and thrill, they always seem to taunt
Recklessly terrifying, like a ghost that longs to haunt
Speaking tales of pure horror, of such vile things
Capable of alluring me while a song of melody it sings
Pleading with me to sin and causing me to embrace wrong
Trying to fight them but I am outnumbered, as if amongst the throng
They speak to me everyday, of another life than this
One of peace and comfort, talking of death’s kiss
God they are overtaking me, refusing to let me go
Imprisoning me in my own mind, twisting everything I know
Creatures of the unknown, could this be a curse of insanity?
Leave me in peace now; spare me from this profanity
From these many voices that are plaguing my mind
Dark thoughts running rampant in this space that’s so confined.

I thought this was really good. Your choice of words were definitely what made this poem dark.

Hey there,
A lovely one. I have a short story called Voices, voices... It's funny to find that we think in about the same way...
Good Luck!
