A memory is like a single
Wave upon the sea
And ugly waves roll just in time
To knock me off my feet
The smell of salt is a story
The sound of gulls a song
And the ocean is all my failures united in one formidable throng.
Someone hold me up
Someone save my soul
The water is too quick
The water too cold
It started with only one, my friends! A single relish in the gutters of time
But the tide grew high, I think I'll die, in this ever-returning grime.

I absolutely love the way you give the waves life and so perfectly describe what life throws at you in memories.
