My Kingdom By The Shore

Contributed by wizard on Tuesday, 21st June 2005 @ 10:27:20 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Marching on this gilded sand
‘round castles darted through my land
Walking tall, with pail in hand –
In search of treasures grand

Peering ‘cross the pebbled shore
For emerald crystals I implore
And the sandy coin from days of yore
And empty shells galore

Yonder I see the stone cascade
I scale atop – unafraid,
There I see my treasure splayed
In all its chasms they pervade

These tiny gems with purple skin
With silver spots and gold within
In their precious gleam they din;
Now brimming out my treasure bin

On my journey home I now embark
As I march, I relive my lark
I hear the people in my land remark
On my gems as they spark

All the other girls and boys
Content just playing with their toys
Watch me march in all my poise
Never to know my treasured joys

My crimson shoulders set aflame
My treasure chest in hand I claim
My sandy land I gave a name
All the folk heard me exclaim;

MY KINGDOM BY THE SHORE

I don't blame you at all, Wiz. Sounds absolutely heavenly to me. I would be marching around proclaiming too! This is very good, Paul.

You know how much this write means to me bro-
It brought me back to a time
when Never..would I sit
and wonder why..

I could sit here and lavish you
with a well placed word..
But in respect to you
and this write in particular..
I will digress and say only that
your work means more to me than any other..
(said with the most in sincerity)

(a genuine and beautiful write)

Eternally..

Billy

I join the ovation and stand as well,
*clapping the loudest!*

I do so enjoy the dark,
but Im learning to love the light as well.
You are getting better and better with every new post you make.

A marvelous write to say the least.

I enjoyed this! And... I'm thinking I'll need to make a habit of dropping by your page more often. I feel like I've been missing out!

Nicely done,

Ah, how you do find the nostalgic crevices of my very own heart and write of them with
considerably little effort. This particular piece makes me long for a more guileless
innocent time. *sigh*

You are a master at description , dear. I could actually picture the wide-eyed smile
etched permanently on your face in this incredibly sweet remembrance. Wonderful
write. Truly, one of my favourites !

I 'too' join in with my fellow poets here in a standing ovation to you dearest Paul~
You took my mind on a wonderful journey to your Kingdom By The Shore leaving me wearing a *smile* I remember those days when I was a kid and how much I enjoyed it when we went to the beach. Sand castles, star fish, crabs and those colorful shells that lined the shore. Thank you so much for bringing back those wonderful memories.
You are a true gift to our poetic souls. Through the magic of your pen you nourish our poetic minds with such beautiful masterpieces. Well done my dear friend.
with love n hugs from ur fan/friend,
