We taint the words 'I love you',
By using them without care.
What used to mean something
Has lost a great deal of meaning.
Love in this time is an elusive foe;
Hunting for it most of our lives,
Yet we may never find it despite how hard we look.
The apparent lack of loves destroys,
Yet a love that is not true also hurts.
Cupid's arrow always hits its mark,
Yet the tip is often poisoned.
Often being fooled by mere infatuation,
The fact we continue on this foolish pursuit
Shows us in our desperate state!
