Upon shadows on walls
Crisply felt through pasts
Cold, stinging, torn
Rapture and ecstasy
Long days spent wild
Crossing tangibility
With a fleeting thought
Of imagination
Stones and salt ruin
The assailable skin
Of a soul, a lover
Undenied but broken
Through whispers of fear
Draped across my shoulder
Something so loyal
Nothing so common
Designed to be kosher
A life spent confined
Between parallels of time
And knowledge locked away
Encroaching light
Penetrates the stone veil
Turning, changing, keeping
The paragon sought
Captured in embrace
Surrendered to fidelity
Trusted but blinded
Knowing can be believing
Immersed in our pitfall
Strong within our confines
Enough perhaps to exist
Fearless in calamity
Learned so eagerly
To each night, a dawn
To each loss, retribution
And given to us, death
Upon shadows on walls
Felt in lifetimes past
Felt now, without virtue
Torn from something dear
Can we but wish
For the rightful end
Alas, to be given
The perfect beginning
