Please Don't Rush Me

Please Don’t Rush Me

Yes I like you
Yes you are nice
Yes I would like to get to know you
Yes it’s a roll of the dice

I am again new to this game
One that I didn’t want to reenter
I am scared of this thing
And need you to be gentler

Please understand that I want to see where this goes
But moving too quickly
I’ll run as fast as the wind blows

You are a wonderful man
And my mind says your great
My heart on the other hand
Has kinda sealed my fate

I am trying to move on with my life
Life after death is hard
But please hang in there with me
Maybe we’re holding the right cards

Only time will tell
And that’s all I can offer right now
But please hang in there with me
And maybe soon we’ll see.

I wish I'd have read this a couple of years ago when I pushed too hard and pushed someone special to me away...Mike
