The Laughter

Topic: DarkPoetry

I hear the laughter
As I fall after
Losing the strife
After destroying my life
I hear the laughing
I begin screaming
Laughter to my left
Causing me this stress
Laughter in front and at my back
Pushing me off track
Laughter to my right
Always at my side
I begin to scream
Wishing it all a dream
But whenever I fail
Laughter is right on my trail
Laughing at me, mocking me
Laughter is now an enemy
Always following
Always laughing
I begin to run
I feel shunned
When I fall down
I frown
All others laugh
Of my stress
And pain
Laugh as I drain
I scream and yell
As I fall
But with all the laughing
No one hears the screaming
I’m drowning
I’m not laughing
Everyone else is though,
Leaving me feeling cold
I losing the strife
They are draining my life
With the laughter
Always after
I fall and trip
I’m starting to slip
But no one hears me crying
Not with all the laughing

Very haunting poem...sent shivers up my spine.

Yes sometimes this world can be filled with mockery and disregard, you cant help feeling people are laughing about you sometimes.

Well done, greatly written.

A dark poem..entitled.."The Laughter"
just that is magnificent-

as I read it..I could only be reminded
of those old Vincent Price horror movies
in which his own evil laughs are voiced over
the most terrifying scenes..
louder..LOUDER.. LAUGHING

beautiful, dark saddness
great write..
