i cannot hold onto what is not there
someone who loves me or someone who cares
i feel and search for them but there's just empty space
when i seek in my mind i see only blank face
i close my eyes and open them only to see
there's no one else there, it's only me
so i lay flat out my palm and reach for the knife
the only thing left i can depend on for life
yet to end it is one of the things that i declare
i cannot live without someone else there...

oh gosh, this isnt terrible, its great!!
Very powerful words indeed. I can relate very much to your thoughts of cutting to relief the pain. I can understand that.
Heart-wrenching poem, the last two lines were magnificent.

| jennie, i don't think it's bad, i think it's sad. sprints has the right of it that while undeniable is your state of being alone, you should not have to resort to the knife. being alone is something i have known pretty well so i know how you can feel. while waiting for that special someone to come along, it was people like you that made the wait bearable. feel free to lean on your friends for support, we care. |
