Sinner's Hands

Contributed by xxbreathlessx on Sunday, 19th June 2005 @ 06:46:05 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My hands perched upon the fountain
Waiting for forgiveness to heal its open wounds
Blood dripping of sins and mistakes made
Hoping redemption to come soon.
Hoping wistfully for these wrong doings to fade
And for the signs dug into the road
To Hint a brighter day.
Blood -
A red so deep it breathes,
It takes away my feelings,
And blinds me from my dreams.
It sinks into my thoughts
And is master of all things in me,
It makes me lose sight
Of all that should be.
All these broken hearts
Trying to mend these open ends,
Breathless on the church step
With me - my sinners hands.
Light that breaks through night
To reach my darkened days,
As I’m up next to the fountain
Just waiting to waste away.
My blood sinks into the water
As my tears collide with it,
Alone on the church step
Me and the sins I’ve kept.
Forgive me for all I’ve done,
For the blood that spills so hopelessly,
Waiting for the words or one of the signs
To appear in my sight as if though magically.
Would you take me just as I am,
With my tear streaked face
My ripped up heart,
And to my side
My sinners hands?

Brilliant write, I really loved it & can very much relate to your thoughts of begging for forgiveness.

We all have sinners hands and God is always willing to cleanse us, but sometimes we doubt.

Well done, I really enjoyed reading this.
Very meaningful.

A masterpiece.

Hope to you dear poet.

i feel your pain, to beg forgivness is a sign of a broken heart.. but you know, God heals broken hearts, and hes the only one who can. he loves you so much, and because of Jesus blood shed for you, he has forgiven you before you even ask for forgivness! he knows your heart better then you know it yourself, and he wants you as his child.. so take courage, have faith, for he is for you- not against you. it takes time to build that trust in him, i know from experiance, but he is faithful and true, and its worth your time to keep turning to him.

bless you...

Wonderful! All your writes that I've read have been amazing. Thank you so much...

This is a great concept and one that seems to reflect myself a lot. It's always an odd feeling when you read someone else's writing that seems to mirror a moment you've experienced.

I'm sure you'll find redemption somehow, if you want it. Keep in mind that it may or may not involve a church. These things are simpler than they seem sometimes.
