A Walk with My Queen

Contributed by jyssvw on Sunday, 19th June 2005 @ 02:48:32 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

We should have known this was coming
Its been brewing
Its been waiting, anticipating
Its opportunity to leap
Grabs us by the throat
And squeezes
Until we both can’t take it anymore
Drops us on the grass
The moist blades taste
Fresh life to graze
A new wall added
To the garden maze
To the palace walls
Meant to keep in the slaves
The luscious halls
And the squabble of the chambermaids
Its not the castle, that never ceases to amaze
Its the queen of the empire
Her beauty sets our hearts ablaze
When we were younger
In our yesterdays
Lost in the dank and funk
Of Jimmy’s purple haze

I’ve noticed something about us
Polar opposites
Or borderline schizoids
In manic rays

Depression attacks
Futile is it
To attempt to fight back

As we grow older
With our memories in a sack

Slugged over our shoulders
Walking to tomorrow

Blindly
In the dark black
