A Loner

Contributed by wandering-soul on Saturday, 18th June 2005 @ 09:31:54 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I am an outcast
I stand alone
But despite my differences
I am still flesh and bone

I am misunderstood and treated with hate
And all I wish is for the pain to abate
Society casts me down
And place on me a thorned crown

I am different, I have nothing to hide
The hate of mankind blind them
From my brighter side

Do not hurt me, it is difficult to bare
All I wish
Is for someone to care

awesome poem!! and i totally feel the same and so do a lot of people, so in reality you aren't standing alone. and i do think you meant YPDC*. back to the poem, though... most people feel like that and want someone who cares.... and i am someone that cares (for others, not myself. lol). i hope it all works out and that you do find someone who cares about you!!! keep up the good work!

Wait-that's "YPDC". Well, at least everyone knows that when I said "first time," I wasn't kidding. Mental note: Never ask a tired parent for help (ha ha).

A fine piece of work is this. You use rhyme well, with no damage to the natural expression of the verses (too often the words are contorted in the effort to produce a rhyme). Well done.

And welcome! Do enjoy yourself, hear?

A well written first entry, I must say. It is unfortunate that there are so many sad poems on this site. My advice that I would give to anyone (like my kids, for example) is to be yourself, be proud of who you are and embrace your differences. None of us are going to be well liked by everybody. Be strong and reach out to those who care. Even those that feel alone (I have been there) have someone in their lives. The more alone we feel, the more we need to connect with those that care. I am sorry for your pain and hope that others can accept you...

Liked this write.........feelings well expressed. But always remember........we are all human, and we cant be liked or like all. Be yourself, and be happy. If that happens, it makes all the differ. Someone holds a key to you and heart........so keep smiling.
