Dream To Die

Contributed by HoPeFuLtKn on Saturday, 18th June 2005 @ 03:37:15 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The little girls teddy bear is her only friend,
After all the heartbreaks, he helps everything mend.
She calls him 'Sweetie' and he sleeps with her each night,
But he can do only little until the demons come for fright.

Red eyes and evil glares make the little girl cry,
Making her heart jump constantly, knowing she will soon die.
The world around her soon becomes oh-so numb,
Teddy understands and sees this making him feel dumb.

Until the night that poor child diminished,
Leaving teddy with so much mending unfinished.
That glistening, crimson pool of blood where she lays,
Makes teddy ashamed, for she no longer has living days.

Now on the side of the cold, wet road,
Teddy holds on his back an emotional load.
That little girl who he loved so dear,
Now perished--leaving it all seem so sheer.

The sun was shining and a rainbow made a glow,
An angel came upon him erasing the crimson flow.
Its the child who died next to teddy, her best friend,
Who shower her possibilities and had a helping hand to lend.

Up to the pearly gates of heaving they go,
That little girl looking back down to a play where she felt so low.
"I am truly sorry Sweetie, but I came back." explained the little girl,
"But I had to leave and I couldn't stand to go without you." while the Earth was on a twirl.

For an instant she saw the bear smile and shed a tear,
A tear of joy to leave the place of horror and demons leer.
"Go now, be free, continue to love." the creator told the child,
"You're now in a place of peace and where hurt is only mild."

She shakes and lets out a shrieking scream,
For she's awake, it was but a mere dream.
The girl turns to teddy and begins to cry,
Realizing its just her dream to die.
