Everything We Were

Contributed by ForeverAndADay on Friday, 17th June 2005 @ 05:27:48 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

We were mountains.
Unshakeable.
Kissing the sky...
The heavens surrounding us like a halo.
Majectic and remarkable...
We were mountains.

We were oceans...
Our dreams made of infinity...
Our purity as clear as tranparency...
We could see what all of us were made of...
We were oceans...

We were valleys...
Deep and rich...
Mysterious and capable...
Of holding great things within our fingers...
Priceless things that no man could ever build...
No human hand could ever touch.
We were valleys...

But we have been crumbling
And We have been sinking...
And roads have been ploud through us...
And now the heavens look down on us...
And our oceans have grown cloudy...
And our valleys hold corruption....

We were something back then...
Now...
We are nothing.
