~~~~~
June 19,
Marks the day
When Father’s Day activities
Get under way
A time to be thankful
To the one
Who blessedly called you
His daughter or son
He unselfishly raised and looked after you
Provided a loving and stable home
Taught you about manners and behavior
That only a father of wisdom could have known
He held your hand when needed
Let go, when the time was right
Taught you how to ride your first bike
Read you books late at night
He took you to ballgames and picnics
Stood right beside you as you grew
Taught you respect and unconditionally
How a love could be so true
He was you greatest supporter and fan
The best friend you ever had
He was everything and more
For he was your dad
