CRIMINAL PASSION

Sitting right next to me
You feel a mile away
What am I to do
When I feel like this every day.
Do I push you out the door
With my profession of love
How I wish to have you here
And give the reason "just because".
Every day is too little
And forever, not enough
When I say "I love you"
It's nothing like a bluff.
I would give all I have
Here and everywhere else
To show you I care
About more than just myself.
I've never felt so strong
Or said any words so sweet
But when you take me in your arms
I'm at my own defeat.
I feel as if I give too much
Never holding back
I know I can't keep from you
Resistance is what I lack.
Take my heart and all my love
All that I bestow
Just promise you'll forever speak
Those words so soft and slow.
Tell me that you love me
Just say it one more time
Exactly how you mean it
Not as if it were a crime.
