Love and War

Contributed by Bones on Thursday, 16th June 2005 @ 01:07:34 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Peace, it’s what we try to fight for
Death overruns us, like before
Love is something we truly need
Hatred’s something we feel, indeed
But can’t we learn to get along?
You don’t have to listen to this song
Just as long as you get the message
Remember, life’s only a passage

You push us aside and look to the next big fight
You say you can see, but so far you no sight
For you still feel hatred, why can’t we settle our differences?
Try and listen to the world, listen to your senses
We’re all here to find the meaning of life
But no one can see what our universe is really like
If we keep killing and ignoring those in need
You shove the words down our throat, still ignoring those in need
We all need to get along
You don’t even have to listen to this song
Just as long as you get the message
And always remember, life’s only a passage

Greed, it over takes us all
Religion, you can see it on every wall
Drugs, they’re selling it to you all
Temptation, it’s dragging you all into a world, which will fall
I doubt you can see your failures to live a full life
This world is turning into a wasteland instead of paradise
Some live by nature, but some live by the knife
We all need love and peace to be truly united
For now, you’re all puppets of the people that control the world
They say they bring peace and order, but I don’t see any in the world
Why can’t humanity live together in peace?
Why can’t we create the perfect world on Earth?
Instead of searching our whole lives for it
You don’t have to listen to this song
Just as long as you get the message
And always remember, life’s only a passage

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
