Prayer

Contributed by hauntedscorp on Thursday, 16th June 2005 @ 12:47:38 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Lord please help make my dreams come true
knowing full well I no longer believe in you
My belief was shaky, right from the start
but after too many tragedies You and I had to part

Can't respect someone who would let these things be
Your path and mine---we no longer agree
How can I have faith without any hope?
How can I trudge on, and be expected to cope?

I've given you several chances to prove yourself to me
now I come to you again with this final plea
Please separate my breath from my body, and set me free...

Fictional she says….its not Fictional its life in all its glory. Used to be strong with God I knew all about him and studied His word all the time. But there comes a time in your life (maybe it was after he ***** me over and over again) when you loss faith. It was a great right and I wish it wasn’t true of my life but how can you love someone that doesn’t love you. Take care my friend and keep up the good writes, your friend….Steve

It's not God who's the problem , it's the people who go under the banner of believers who are the biggest hypocrits going. No wonder the world is in such a mess. The amount of horror that is done in the name of religion. Can we blame God for that?

i feel ya. life is full of them
retorical question- why is god always the last place we look to cope?

He is the ground of your very being scorp. No escaping from this ground.
Do not confuse what is called "Religion" with God, - God is love, - but people of "Religion" have trhrown filth in His face.
Your poem is beautiful, sad - nay tragic.
When the time is right you will becp,e aware of his all-pervading PRESENCE.

Love and peace
Elizabeth Dandy

I know it says fictional, but I am skeptical of this statement. I know exactly where you are coming from here. over the past few years I have been reevaluating my belief in the Christian God. He seems somewhat incompetent if he is indeed what they say he is. Anyway. very very good. like I said, I have fallen in love with your pen. Your words are a great inspiration in my life. Healing wounds and starting afresh with vigor and boldness. my many thanks
