Look.
I UNDERSTAND you've had a hard day,
I UNDERSTAND your family is a pain,
I UNDERSTAND you've had to grow up fast,
I UNDERSTAND all of the things you've lain in my lap.
I UNDERSTAND you're stressed right now.
What I didn't understand,
Is what you said just then.
I asked for an explanation,
You said "nothing..."
Like I do, so I don't have to explain a joke,
To someone too stupid to understand.
That made me feel stupid.
You've done that many times.
You explained you don't say "I don't know"
So you wouldn't seem so random.
But you explained your thought process,
As being very random,
So "nothing..." means the same thing,
This way that you've explained it.
Innocently enough, I pointed this out.
I THOUGHT it was innocently enough.
But I was wrong, I guess.
I didn't just light your fuse.
I lit the powder,
Pointing out this one small thing.
You blew up at me.
About your day, about the world,
About your responsibilities,
As if it were all my fault.
This, I don't UNDERSTAND.
I used to make things better,
Now I only make things worse.
What did I do wrong?
This too, I don't UNDERSTAND.
I'm not mad at you,
But you seem quite mad at me.
Once again, I don't UNDERSTAND.
What happened?
What did I do to deserve that?
I didn't blow up at you for "nothing..."
YOu blew up at me for not understanding "nothing..."
I do not UNDERSTAND.
Please, if you could tell me.
What did I do?
I want to UNDERSTAND.
