Memories of Rainbows

I seen a rainbow today,
My heart clenched,
Yet, the storm reigned on.
Amongst the fury of rain and
Thunder,
Peace shined bright
Like a burning silk ribbon.
I was taken back to restless
Childhood memories, that lurked so
Near;
Days of fairytales and dreams,
A rendition of future hopes.
Oh, how memories seize the
Mind and pain the heart!
When,
So abruptly, that rainbow begins
to fade and leaves
Yet, another memory.
