The Shadow of Time

Contributed by FigurelessShadow on Wednesday, 15th June 2005 @ 09:06:26 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Time passed on a Summers morn,
It flew away as the day was born,
I walked while I wished,
I prayed while I fished,
For a girl in the blazing heat of Summer,
Somebody special,
Somebody with style.
Time flew by while hopes would die,
It's as if my prayers only brought me one friend,
A shadow, or the shadow of the time,
That flew away at the site of me.
I sat and cried,
Lonely and deprived,
Of every shred of happiness that I once held,
I cried, cried.
It's a struggle,
Living your life by following times shadow,
It's a pain,
Living your life and getting no gain,
It's torture,
Watching happy people around you,
It's surreal,
Thinking that you'll allways be alone.
But sometimes, surreal can be real...

your poem is beautiful, your writing flows very well.

it's often hard to find a person to be a friend, one that you can really connect to. i can really relate to your poem. even though i have friends, close friends even and my family treats me well, i feel so alone like there is no one out there that sees or feels in the same way i do. the poem reminds me of the saying "alone in a room full of people"
