WHY I LOVE DOGS!

WHY I LOVE DOGS!

Scientists say dogs can't give love?
Love they can give, like from above.
Listen to this remarkable story.....
The dog that loved his Mistress intensely.

Lucky was his name, this dog of Mary and Jim.
His toys so numerous, he could fill a gym.
Whenever something came up missing.
His toy box in the basement it would cling.

Mary found out she had breast cancer.
Fatal she knew it was,
she couldn't be any braver.
A double mastectomy was scheduled.
Before the day of surgery, Lucky
and she cuddled.

She thought what if I die,
what will happen to Lucky?
Jim was good to Lucky, but he
was her dog and she began to cry.
Frightened she may die, and leave
Lucky alone.
He would always think she abandoned
him, her love unknown.

That thought was sadder than
her own death.
Double mastectomy was very hard,
took away her breath.
Her stay in the hospital was
two weeks long.
Lucky began to droop, weak,
not very strong.

Jim walked him faithfully each night,
He tried to love him and do everything right.
Mary finally came home at last.
Exhausted she couldn't leave the couch,
completely bed fast.

When called, Lucky wouldn't come to her.
Sad but tired, she fell into a deep sleep after.
Mary awoke and couldn't understand what
was wrong.
She couldn't move her head, and her
body felt so heavy and she wasn't strong.

Her worries turned to laughter....
While she slept, Lucky had piled all of
his toys on her, like a toy bearer.
Making many trips to the basement,
time and time again.
He had overloaded her with all of his
lifelong treasures from his playpen.
Lucky had showered his mistress
with all the love he could give.
Afterwards Mary didn't die but started
to live.

It's been 12 years now since her
cancer operation.
Lucky still stashes toys away,
'twas her salvation.
He loves her more with each passing day.
She is his greatest treasure, and she
will remain so in everyway.

Live each and every day that you have
here upon this earth.
Live it for all you're worth.
God blesses us with life and all it's beauty,
Loving gifts he also provides in dogs
named Lucky!

This story is awsome. My faily gota dog from a pound. The dog is
a boxer-terrier mix. Terrier face boxer color and he was mean at first as he was an abused dog.Now he is happy to be part of our family and knows he is loved and he again can trust people. We wouldn't trade him for a million dollars.
Dogs can't love ? You cannot find a creature that gives so much love and expects nothing in return except to be treated well.
Your friends are "LUCKY" they have that special dog. I wsh them and you well.

Sinned

What an exquisitely narrated story of the power of love - even from an animal dog or otherwise.
HE has many ways and means to avail Himself for our comfort and consolation.
A profoundly touching and beautiful narrative of te affection between human and a dog,and its efficacy .
Beautiful Consue!
Thanks for sharing
Elizabeth

Hello. This made me sad. It made me think of my dog Queeny. When I was a kid , she would jump the fence and follow me to the bus stop. Then she'd go on back home when I got on the school bus. What a sweet poem.
