Turned to Gray

Hopes and wishes, carried on a breeze
Tossed around with careless ease
If I had begged you "Pretty please?"
Would you have listened to me that day?
Lasting friendship, hangin' tight
Always dragging you out of a fight
Our personalities were like day and night
I thought you were here to stay.
Out for a good time, that was your game
Now that you're gone, nothing's the same
I couldn't even take the blame
For your soul I continue to pray.
You're sadly missed, this is true
Daylight has taken on a gloomy hue
It's like Nature has taken your death as a cue
And turned my world to gray.

Wow ... this is an incredible write .... I love the different use of rhyming - it flowed so well. I am very sorry you lost your friend like that - and you have displayed your emotions so well. 10 out of 10 from me ... Jan |

Sorry to hear of your loss. This poem is another very good one. Great rhyme-scheme, and the last stanza is quite a powerful one. Thank you for sharing. |
